Having returned home, the younger son is dressed by a servant in fine new clothes. The cloak represents baptism or rebirth, the sandals freedom and the ring renewed alliance, from the Parable of the Prodigal Son stained glass window, in the north transept of Chartres Cathedral, Eure-et-Loir, France.
