Small landscape fresco panel, 1st century AD, on the wall of the atrium of the Casa di Fabio Amandio, or House of Fabius Amandus, Pompeii, Italy. The fresco is in the Fourth Style of Roman wall painting, 60-79 AD, a complex narrative style. Pompeii is a Roman town which was destroyed and buried under 4-6 m of volcanic ash in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.
