Salle du Conseil or Council Room, the site of the assassination of the Duc de Guise in 1588, on the second floor of the Francois I wing, built early 16th century in Italian Renaissance style, at the Chateau Royal de Blois, built 13th - 17th century in Blois in the Loire Valley, Loir-et-Cher, Centre, France. The murder is retold in several 19th century paintings hung in the room. Above the fireplace is the crowned salamander, symbol of Francois I. The room was restored by Felix Duban in the 19th century.
